Christian Dior is well known to many. So is the perfume, Miss Dior (picture below). But the woman who inspired the perfume is less well known. Justine Picardie wants to do something about that.

In occupied Paris, Christian Dior works to hone his couture skills, while his younger sister Cathrine works for the resistance, until she is arrested by the Gestapo and deported to the Ravensbrück prison camp.
Picardie follows the different paths of the two siblings during the war, which leads her deeper into other hidden histories.
It is a story of fashion, beauty, roses, freedom and fascism, and what it means to believe in beauty and hope in a dark time filled with despair.
