H&M has revealed its latest design collaboration

H&M’s new guest designer has been revealed, and we were wrong. It was neither Kate Spade nor Vivienne Westwood, but Simone Rocha. And we’re not complaining. After looking at the first photos and videos with teaser of the collection, I want everything!

In London: Hanna Margrethe Enger

There are pearls and sequins, puff sleeves and large skirts. The style is feminine, but modern. The collection includes everything from tulle dresses to T-shirts and trenchcoats, to shoes and jewellery. All wardrobe needs are met. But she hasn’t just designed clothes for women. There is also a men’s collection and a children’s collection. Simone Rocha has thought of everyone.

Simone Rocha is Irish and has fashion running through her blood. Her father is designer John Rocha, and she started working in his atelier when she was 13. She has thus worked in fashion for over 20 years, and her own brand celebrates 10 years this year. In other words, she is an experienced and well-established designer. Proud of her cultural background, she is inspired by both her birthplace Dublin and her father’s Hong Kong.

Of her collaboration with H&M, she says: “I am so thrilled to be working with H&M on this very special collection. It truly is a celebration of the signatures of my brand, and the influences that have shaped me. As a designer, and as a customer, I’ve been such a fan of the H&M collaboration concept. Margiela, Alber Elbaz, Comme des Garcons – it’s such an amazing list of alumni to be a part of.”

We can’t wait to see more of the collection.
