Norsk beauty-merke

Bjørnsen solgte i 2003 oljeutstyr firmaet “Scan Tech” for over 100 millioner.

Norwegian beauty

It’s been a well kept secret for a while. But now the cat’s out of the bag: Amberly Cosmetics is a brand new beauty brand created in Stavanger, Norway.

It’s the wealthy businessman Bjoern Erik Bjoernsen who’s behind the new label. Bjoernsen made his fortune selling specialist equipment to the oil industry through his company “Scan Tech”. But in 2003 he sold the company for over a 100 million Norwegian kroner. According to Norwegian media he now runs a successful investment business, and is not a stranger to invest with his heart as well as his brain. A few years ago he saved his fave pizza restaurant in hometown Stavanger from going bankrupt. And now he has invested 15 million kroner in Amberly Cosmetics – which has also generated 12 new jobs in his hometown. “He loves makeup and actually walks around with a red lipstick in his pocket, revealed skincare ekspert Camilla Tran at the recent launch of the brand at a celeb-heavy party in Oslo a few weeks ago.

Bjoernsen is no stranger to the beauty industry. Thirty years ago he imported and distributed the American homeparty-brand “Avon Cosmetics” to Norway. Bjoernsen claimed he was intrigued and when he decided to found something so rare as a Norwegian cosmetics brand a few years ago, the name Amberly came to mind.

Amberly Cosmetics has two lines: a makeup-line and a skincare-line. The products are developed by Norwegians at a laboratory in France, the Stavanger-team being hands-on through out the whole process.

On the team is the known makeup artist Stephan Ulvund Øien, who is product developer of all Amberly’s makeup – he has personally mixed the brands entire colour palette by hand. The skincare range named “Pre Eminence” is developed by Camilla Tran and consists of 22 products – of which they claim none are tested on animals. The brand will not be sold over the cosmetics counters but homeparty-style by the company’s own sales reps and from their online net shop https://www.amberly.no. Their plan is to launch in Norway and Sweden this spring. “Then who knows what happens next! says an enthusiastic Bjoernsen to Styletalk.”
