New Chanel video shot in the designers home in 31 Rue Cambon

For the press kit of the Cruise 2021/22 collection imagined by Virginie Viard, the dutch duo Inez & Vinoodh have put togther a gorgeous series of magnetic shots done on location in Coco Chanel’s home in 31, Rue Cambon in Paris where she lived the last years of her life. The appartment is like the late designer left it, with all furniture, ornaments and decor more or less untouched. If the legend of Coco resides anywhere – it must be here.

In the video and photos model Lola Nicon lounges in the historic space, surrounded by the designer’s bestiary and her symbols. She looks like an irreverent punk heroine, languishing on the famous beige suede sofa in the salon or posing nonchalantly in the baroque décor of the dining room and study. Perhaps an ode to the rebel of madame herself back in the day and yet – a casual and sophisticated allure that contrasts with the intimate universe of the designer.

In several scenes, a hibiscus flower recalls that of Jean Cocteau’s Testament of Orpheus, filmed at the Carrières de Lumières, in the village of Les Baux-de-Provence, the location for the CHANEL Cruise 2021/22 show.

The fill film of the show will be revealed tonight, Tuesday the 4th of May at 6pm Paris time on chanel.com.
