H&M returns with new designer collaboration

Since 2004, H&M has collaborated with some of the biggest designers in the world. Every November, fashion fans queued up outside H&M stores around the world to secure designer pieces at an affordable price.

Many have wondered if there would be more collaborations or if the pandemic was the end of them. But now H&M has shared that a new collaboration is just around the corner. This time with Mugler, led by creative director Casey Cadwallader.

Mugler was founded by Thierry Mugler in the 1970s. He died in January 2022, but hadn’t led Mugler in years, since he retired in 2003. That doesn’t mean he stayed completely away from the fashion world, in 2019 he designed the dress Kim Kardashian wore at the Met gala. He also designed the costumes for Beyoncé’s “I am… World Tour” in 2009.

Casey Cadwallader was announced as the new creative director of Mugler in December 2017. His resume includes Narciso Rodriguez, Loewe and Acne Studios, but he also has a background in architecture, which he studied at Cornell University.

It’s safe to say that we can expect an exciting collection. It will be available online and in selected stores in spring 2023.
